FOUR FOX SCHOOLS RECEIVE PROMISING PRACTICES AWARD

Promising Practice Awar

{JUNE 24, 2020} Arnold, MO – The Don Earl Early Childhood Center, George Guffey Elementary, Raymond, Meramec Heights Elementary, and Nancy Hodge Elementary received Promising Practices awards from Character.org for the 2019-2020 school year. Promising Practices awards are given to schools and organizations that develop programs and initiatives that demonstrate effective character development. 


Don Earl Early Childhood Center

“Be Kind” - a recognition and celebration of National Random Acts of Kindness Week

George Guffey Elementary

“Fur the Love of Paws and Purrs” - The Guffey Character Council members researched animal shelters and made toys for dogs and cats at a local animal shelter

Meramec Heights Elementary

Recognized for work developing student grit

Raymond and Nancy Hodge Elementary

“Caring Hearts for Open Door” - Hodge Character Council members worked to raise money and collect pet supplies for Open Door Animal Sanctuary


“I am incredibly proud of the work of these schools in the area of character development,” Fox C-6 Superintendent Dr. Nisha Patel said. “These schools truly are upholding the Fox C-6 Promise that we will love and care for our students so that they will leave our schools with a Purpose.”

Promising Practices Awards are given to schools and districts throughout the country for the implementation of unique and specific strategies for targeting character education. “Each of these programs and initiatives have demonstrated significant impact and strongly align with the principles that help schools and organizations cultivate a culture of character,” said Dr. Arthur Schwartz, President of Character.org. 

Previously, the Don Earl Early Childhood Center was named a National School of Character in 2016. Hodge Elementary was named a National School of Character in 2018. George Guffey Elementary was named a National School of Character in 2011 and 2017.
