{November 15, 2017} ARNOLD, MO – For the third straight year, Fox C-6 has increased its Annual Percentage Rate (APR) under the Missouri School Improvement Plan 5 (MSIP 5), which assesses students in the areas of English/Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, Social Studies, and College and Career Readiness. For the 2016-2017 school year, Fox C-6 students earned 138.5 out of a total 140 points available. “This is a remarkable achievement from our students and all of our students, parents, staff, and community should be proud,” said Superintendent Jim Wipke. Earning 98.9% of the available points, Fox C-6 is accredited with distinction by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

This is the third year that scores have have improved at Fox C-6. “This illustrates the determination of our students and staff,” Wipke said. “It is our want and strong desire to constantly look at ways we can improve our practices for the betterment of our students. We truly serve some of the finest students in the nation!”

In 2014, the Fox C-6 APR was 89.6%, in 2015, that grew to 95.7%, which grew to 96.1% in 2016. Since 2014, that’s an increase of 9.3%. “We are particularly proud to see our growth in the areas of College and Career Readiness,” Wipke said. “We are doing more and more to give our students the support they need to do well on the ACT, earn college credit while in high school, and our new Naviance software will make it even easier for students and their families to connect with colleges and universities.” Wipke also credited the amazing teachers and staff and truly believes they are using the investment in Curriculum and Instruction to help students learn.

According to Wipke, College and Career Readiness will continue to be an area of emphasis for the district. “We want to give our students every opportunity to succeed,” Wipke said. This year, the Fox C-6 School District will pay for all district juniors to take the February ACT. It is also providing an ACT prep course to interested students leading up to the exam. The district is also in the process of revising the high school schedule. “The adjustments to the high school schedules are really exciting,” Wipke said. “Students are going to have more opportunities to take higher level classes while finding the support they need within the school day.”
