Kim Zustiak named Missouri Speech, Debate, & Theatre Teacher of the year

{December 17, 2020} Imperial, MO – Kim Zustiak, the speech, theatre, and debate teacher at Seckman High School, was named Missouri Speech, Debate, and Theatre Educator of the Year by the Missouri State High School Athletic Association (MSHSAA) for the 2019-2020 school year. Speech, Debate, and Theatre educators are honored with this annual award for making significant contributions towards quality programs that improve and promote performance education in their school communities. In order to be honored with this award, an educator must be nominated by one of their peers.

“I am honored that my colleagues in speech, debate, and theatre chose to recognize me with this honor,” Kim Zustiak said. “but the real recognition should be given to the amazing students that I have an opportunity to serve each and every day. They truly bring out the best in me and in each other.”

“Kim has been such an advocate for kids during this pandemic.  She has relentlessly sought solutions so that her speech and debate students could participate in competitions and have as normal of an experience as possible,” added Seckman High School Principal, Jeff Krutzsch. “Because of Kim, these kids will still have fond memories of high school and their accomplishments through speech and debate.”
