Program Expansion

Fox C-6 was one of only two school districts in the state of Missouri and one of only 62 school districts across the country to receive a district-wide PLTW grant this year.

“I am so excited about the opportunities this grant will afford the students in our District,” said Fox C-6 Superintendent Dr. Nisha Patel. “This was a specific action step in our Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) that was developed collaboratively with our community. I would like to specifically thank Maria Bielik for all of her dedication, effort, and passion for working so hard on behalf of our students and pursuing this grant. Providing students with engineering and computer science courses all throughout their educational careers will help students see additional career pathways for life after graduation and allow students to graduate with a Purpose.”

“Project Lead the Way courses have been incredibly impactful in both high schools,” said Dr. Tammy Cardona, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools. “I know that the program expansions that we will be able to do because of this grant opportunity will impact Fox C-6 students for years to come.”

“It has always been my goal to be able to offer Project Lead the Way courses PreK-12,” said Maria Bielik, Fox C-6 Assessment, College, and Career Readiness Coordinator. “This grant will have a lasting impact on the current and future students in Fox C-6. I truly cried tears of joy when I was informed that we had received $390,000 to grow our PLTW program."

Project Lead the Way is an organization focused on “empowering students and transforming the teaching experience,” according to their website. PLTW offers comprehensive PreK-12 pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science.
