{May 24, 2021} Arnold, MO –The Fox C-6 Board of Education announced that they are seeking applications from eligible residents to fill a vacancy on the board. The Board accepted the resignation of Bob Gruenewald at an emergency meeting on May 21. Any interested resident of the Fox C-6 School District is invited to apply to fill the vacant seat. The Board will appoint an eligible person (see eligibility requirements below) to serve until the April 2022 election.

To apply, eligible residents of the Fox C-6 School District must submit a hard copy of the attached application in person at Fox C-6 Central Office, located at 745 Jeffco BLVD, Arnold MO, 63010, by 4 p.m. on June 4, 2021. The Board will review applications and then vote to appoint a new member in an open session meeting. The schedule and timeline is as follows:

  • May 21, 2021  - Board accepts the resignation, reviews the process of appointing a replacement, and declares vacancy

  • May 24, 2021  - Application window opens for Board vacancy

  • June 4, 2021 - Applications due at 4 pm

  • June 15, 2021 - Interview and appoint a new Board member during the regularly scheduled Board meeting (7 p.m. Open Session)

The appointed candidate will serve until April 2022 at which time there will be a special election to fill the remainder of Gruenewald’s three-year term, which expires in April 2023. If the individual appointed to serve this year wishes to continue serving on the Board, they must file in Dec. 2021 to be a candidate in the April 2022 Board of Education election.

Eligibility Requirements

Individuals who wish to be eligible for appointment to the Board must meet eligibility requirements for school board candidates under Missouri law. Therefore, to be eligible for appointment you must:

  1. Be a citizen of the United States of America. 

  2. Be a resident taxpayer of the District. 

  3. Have resided in Missouri for a minimum of one year immediately preceding your appointment, if appointed. 

  4. Be at least 24 years of age. 

  5. Not be delinquent in the payment of any state income taxes, personal property taxes, municipal taxes or real property taxes on your place of residence as listed on this form. If an applicant is a past or present corporate officer of any fee office, that office cannot be delinquent in the payment of any taxes owed the state. 

  6. Not have been found guilty of nor pled guilty to a felony or misdemeanor under the federal laws of the United States of America or to a felony under Missouri law or an offense committed in another state that would be considered a felony in Missouri.

  7. Not be registered or required to be registered as a sex offender.

  8. Have filed, or the treasurer of any existing candidate committee has filed, all required campaign disclosure reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission, when applicable, for all previous elections in which you were a candidate.
