Fox C-6 Staff Gather at Rickman Auditorium

{August 14, 2017} ARNOLD, MO – The Fox C-6 School District hosted its annual “Back to School Kick-Off” for staff on August 10th, 2017. The event welcomes all staff members employed by the district to Rickman Auditorium to celebrate each other and the district’s students.

“Our students are our masterpieces,” said Superintendent Jim Wipke. “The kick-off is a way to remind our staff that we’re all in this together for our students.”

Rickman was at capacity with nearly 1,500 staff members representing every department and building in the district. The event was hosted by Fox and Seckman High School students who attended National Leadership Academy this past summer. They introduced student groups who performed, including the Fox and Seckman High Drumlines and choirs, Seckman High School JagSwag Dance Team, Fox High Warriorettes, cheerleaders, and more.

The event also had three keynote speakers.

Summer Smith, a 15 year old Fox High student discussed her experience at National Leadership Academy and the support she received from staff when she was a student at Fox Middle School.

Christine Keisker, the District’s 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year, thanked her colleagues and emphasized the importance of relationships in education.

Finally, Dr. Wipke delivered the final keynote to discuss the district’s focus on love, service, and care and what it means to truly create masterpieces in students. Throughout the presentation, various groups of staff were recognized and thanked for their dedication, including the district’s bus drivers who safely delivered all riders home during the December 2016 ice storm.

“Having all of our staff in one place at the start of the school year is an important tradition,” Wipke said. “We are all incredibly excited to start another school year and to take a few hours to recognize our common focus helps set us up for another successful school year. Our staff goes above and beyond for students and you can feel the energy and passion they have when they’re all in the same room together.”
