Antonia Middle School Open HouseMarch 11, 2010 In celebration of the opening of Antonia Middle School, parents, students, & community members are invited to an “AMS Open House.” on April 1st. Fox High Theatre Troupe Makes State CompetitionMarch 8, 2010 The Fox High School Theatre Troupe has qualified for the State level of the One Act Play Competition. They will attend the event in Columbia, Missouri on April 23rd and 24th. From The Superintendent: Fox C-6 School District Faces New CutsMarch 2, 2010 Governor Jay Nixon’s office issued a warning the last week of February to all of Missouri public schools that it is likely going to cut $43 million dollars in budget cuts for this current fiscal year. Fox C-6 First Annual 5K Booster Run/WalkFebruary 26, 2010 A 5K run/Walk will be held on June 5th at 8:00 a.m. on the Seckman Campus. All proceeds from the run will benefit the Seckman Cross Country program. Guffey Student is Missouri State Archery Champion!February 18, 2010 Guffey Elementary once again is home to the winner of the State Archery Tournament that was held on February 13th. District Spelling Bee WinnersJanuary 29, 2010 Students from Fox, Guffey, Rockport and Meramec Heights Elementary proved they know how to spell more than just S-U-C-C-E-S-S. The district held its annual spelling bee on Wednesday, January 27th at the Fox C-6 Service Center. Each elementary school sent representatives from their student body, chosen in spelling bees at their individual schools. The Fox Follies Return in 2010 for a 12th Year!January 20, 2010 Employees of Fox C-6 Cchool District will perform at the 12th annual Fox Follies on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Rickman Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. From The Superintendent: Distinction in Performance Award for 9th Year in a RowJanuary 11, 2010 The Fox C-6 District was one of the local area school districts to earn Missouri’s coveted Distinction in Performance Award this year, according to a December 17th announcement from state education officials. The award honors districts for academic achievement and progress during the 2008-2009 school year. Antonia Student is a National Winner in Constitution Day Poster ContestDecember 16, 2009 Rose Augustin, age 10, Imperial, MO, a fourth grader at Antonia Elementary School, Fox C-6 School District, is a national winner in the Third Annual GovDoc Kids Group Constitution Day Poster Contest. Seckman Students Make All-District Band and Jazz BandsNovember 4, 2009 Congratulations to the following Seckman students who auditioned and were selected to the 2009 East Central All-District Band and Jazz Bands. The concert band will perform Saturday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Seckman High School. The Jazz bands will perform on Saturday, December 12 at Jefferson College. Fox & Seckman Football Teams Earn All-Conference HonorsNovember 3, 2009 Congratulations to our fine athletes from both schools. From The Superintendent: H1N1 Vaccination Clinic UpdateOctober 15, 2009 Fox C-6 School District has been working closely with the Jefferson County Health Department to coordinate an H1N1 vaccination clinic campaign for those individuals that are recommended to receive the vaccine in our district. Currently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have outlined five high-risk groups that are encouraged to receive this vaccine. From The Superintendent: Antonia Middle School Creates Opportunities for Fox C-6 Students / The REACH Program Receives a New HomeOctober 13, 2009 The newest addition to the Fox C-6 School District, Antonia Middle School, will operate slightly different than the districts’ other middle schools. It will open its doors in the fall of 2010 with students ranging in grades from six through eight. Currently, the existing middle schools serve students only in grades seven and eight. Fox Alumni Choir Concert To Be Held October 17thOctober 9, 2009 The Fox Alumni Choir Concert held at First Baptist Church of Arnold at 6:00pm on October 17th. This concert will honor Martin S. Johnson and will benefit the Fox Vocal Music Department. Alumni from 1968-1984 will be singing and the Fox Concert Choir will perform. The concert is free, but donations will be collected to benefit the Fox choirs. From The Superintendent: A New YearSeptember 17, 2009 Fox School District is an educational community where high expectations, excellent performance and strong community support are the norm. Realtors are always informing us that our excellent schools are a major selling point for their clients. From The Superintendent: A New YearSeptember 16, 2009 We have students in the Fox C-6 School District with confirmed cases of type A influenza. These individuals are not currently in school, and have already been treated for this illness. Our school nurses are screening at risk students throughout the day, so as to monitor any further spread of the virus. Due to the large number of type A influenza cases, the State Health Department is not testing samples for H1N1 (swine flu), because the course of treatment is the same. For all flu cases, the recommended treatment is rest, fluids, fever reducers, and Tamiflu within the first 48 hours. H1N1 (Swine) Flu InformationAugust 18, 2009 The Fox C-6 School District will continue to monitor the current status of H1N1 (Swine) Flu. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends four main ways you and your family may keep from getting sick with the flu at school and at home. The excitement level over the next few weeks continues to increase as the first day draws near. The district’s continued success has created an eminent elevation for the 2009-2010 year.
