Fox High Theatre Troupe Makes State Competition

From The Superintendent: Fox C-6 School District Faces New Cuts

Governor Jay Nixon’s office issued a warning the last week of February to all of Missouri public schools that it is likely going to cut $43 million dollars in budget cuts for this current fiscal year.

Fox C-6 First Annual 5K Booster Run/Walk

A 5K run/Walk will be held on June 5th at 8:00 a.m. on the Seckman Campus. All proceeds from the run will benefit the Seckman Cross Country program.

Guffey Student is Missouri State Archery Champion!

District Spelling Bee Winners

Students from Fox, Guffey, Rockport and Meramec Heights Elementary proved they know how to spell more than just S-U-C-C-E-S-S. The district held its annual spelling bee on Wednesday, January 27th at the Fox C-6 Service Center. Each elementary school sent representatives from their student body, chosen in spelling bees at their individual schools.

The Fox C-6 District was one of the local area school districts to earn Missouri’s coveted Distinction in Performance Award this year, according to a December 17th announcement from state education officials. The award honors districts for academic achievement and progress during the 2008-2009 school year.

Seckman Students Make All-District Band and Jazz Bands

Congratulations to the following Seckman students who auditioned and were selected to the 2009 East Central All-District Band and Jazz Bands. The concert band will perform Saturday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Seckman High School. The Jazz bands will perform on Saturday, December 12 at Jefferson College.

From The Superintendent: H1N1 Vaccination Clinic Update

Fox C-6 School District has been working closely with the Jefferson County Health Department to coordinate an H1N1 vaccination clinic campaign for those individuals that are recommended to receive the vaccine in our district. Currently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have outlined five high-risk groups that are encouraged to receive this vaccine.

From The Superintendent: Antonia Middle School Creates Opportunities for Fox C-6 Students / The REACH Program Receives a New Home

The newest addition to the Fox C-6 School District, Antonia Middle School, will operate slightly different than the districts’ other middle schools. It will open its doors in the fall of 2010 with students ranging in grades from six through eight. Currently, the existing middle schools serve students only in grades seven and eight.

Fox Alumni Choir Concert To Be Held October 17th

The Fox Alumni Choir Concert held at First Baptist Church of Arnold at 6:00pm on October 17th. This concert will honor Martin S. Johnson and will benefit the Fox Vocal Music Department. Alumni from 1968-1984 will be singing and the Fox Concert Choir will perform. The concert is free, but donations will be collected to benefit the Fox choirs.

We have students in the Fox C-6 School District with confirmed cases of type A influenza. These individuals are not currently in school, and have already been treated for this illness. Our school nurses are screening at risk students throughout the day, so as to monitor any further spread of the virus. Due to the large number of type A influenza cases, the State Health Department is not testing samples for H1N1 (swine flu), because the course of treatment is the same. For all flu cases, the recommended treatment is rest, fluids, fever reducers, and Tamiflu within the first 48 hours.
